While over half the continent (28 countries) have Access to Information (ATI) rights legislation, effective enforcement and overcoming digital divides, particularly for women, remain key challenges. This has slowed the translation of laws into real-world accountability and informed citizen participation.

HACIR is here to advocate for full adoption and application of ATI laws, going by our new strategic plan. Our target is that by 2040, all African countries would have adopted and implemented ATI laws. We need your support in order to realise this dream.
